ASRS S2 compliance, explained in 60 seconds
ASRS S2 is Australia's mandatory climate-related financial disclosure standard, issued by the Australian Accounting Standards Board as AASB S2. It applies in three phased cohorts
Group 1
Financial years starting on or after 1 January 2025
Entities with more than
-> $500 million revenue,
-> $1 billion assets, or
-> 500 employees, and NGER publishers above the threshold.
Group 2
Financial years starting from 1 July 2026
Entities with more than
-> more than $200 million revenue,
-> $500 million assets, or
-> 250 employees, plus larg super funds
Group 3
Financial years starting from 1 July 2027
Entities with more than
-> more than $50 million revenue,
-> $25 million assets, or
-> 100 employees, and NGER publishers above the threshold.
Each cohort must disclose governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics and targets relating to climate, alongside their financial statements.
Disclosures are externally assured under ASIC oversight.
Trace helps mandatory reporters deliver these disclosures using a Minimum Viable Compliance method: a fixed-scope, audit-ready year-one filing, with a modular upgrade path for year two and beyond.
