Visual communication & design intern

Flexible: part time

We are hiring a part-time intern to design assets for our website, member portal and social media.

Our vision is to create a trusted consumer brand that helps everyone live a carbon neutral life by helping members to reduce their carbon footprint and offset the rest.

We want to be the trusted and accessible consumer carbon offsetting brand. To do this we need to create engaging ways to help consumers understand and visualise the impact of carbon offsets. Our user experience and brand need to be first class so that our members become our ambassadors.

The ideal time commitment is 2 days per week on any weekday, pre-agreed the week before.

Skills needed (all or 2 of the following)

- Graphics, media and digital design skills
- UX and responsive design skills
- Data visualisation and animation skills

Resources available for use

- Design resources: access to Sketch account
- Brand assets including brand colours, logos and font
- Carbon impact / footprint data model to use for visualisation

The Trace team is currently made up of the 2 cofounders, Cat and Jo, who will be readily available to support and coach you. We want to find the right candidate who wants to help us realise our vision and learn about working in a startup.

Your responsibilities
- Work with founders, business owners and C-level executives of environmentally conscious SMEs to make their organisation, services and/or products carbon neutral
- Ultimately own and develop Trace’s proprietary carbon emissions model and calculation methodology
- Support clients throughout the sales process including education, data gathering, carbon footprinting and onboarding
- Develop client proposals to clearly communicate how Trace works and the value we bringWork closely with founders and Tech team to shape Trace’s ‘Net Zero Coach’ platform
- Help design and execute the client renewal process to secure recurring annual revenues
- Research, identify and share relevant information and trends relating to carbon footprinting, carbon emissions reduction, environmental legislation, competitor advancements and emerging sustainability strategies
- Create educational content for SMEs to help them achieve their sustainability goals and build Trace’s profile as a thought leader 

What we will love about you
-
Degree in environmental science, engineering, sustainability or relevant fieldMinimum 2 years’ experience in environmental / climate consulting or corporate sustainability 
- Analytical problem solver who is comfortable working with large datasets
- Experience with the Climate Active programme and/or lifecycle assessment (LCA) methodologies is highly desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to represent complex information in a simple and accessible way
- Flexible, resilient and creative - this is an agile startup environment with lots of ambiguity!Exceptional organisational and time management skills as you will be juggling multiple priorities

We are looking for a business / sales development rep to help more companies become carbon neutral with trace.

Your responsibilities
- You will be selling to the founders, business owners and C-level executives of environmentally conscious businesses with 5 - 200 employees
- You will utilise warm leads from lead gen activities as well as reach out to potential customers to secure new business
- Develop and manage partnerships with purpose aligned businesses to grow our brand awareness and bring in new B2B leads
- Own the end to end sales process including prospecting, outreach, follow up, education and closeHelp design and execute the client renewal process to secure recurring revenues Identify opportunities for enhancing and automating the sales process
- Develop educational content for clients on how to achieve their sustainability goals
- Work with founders to shape and iterate the sales, onboarding and client experience based on feedback 

Requirements
- 2+ years experience in B2B business development / sales Track record managing partnerships and/or sales prospects 
- Experience working in a sustainability team or environmental consultancy preferred
- Comfortable working autonomously to meet sales targetsFlexible, resilient and creative - this is an agile startup environment with lots of ambiguity!
- Excellent communicator who can successfully help clients understand the benefit of trace for their customers, employees and organisation

Community & Social Media Intern

Part time (1-2 days per week)

We are looking for an experienced community and social media manager to help us build an online community and grow.Responsibilities include planning and creating social media content, identifying and connecting with relevant influencers and listening and responding to customers and followers.

Requirements:
- Excellent writing and design skills;
- Experience using Later and Canva or similar digital marketing tools;
- Strong handle on social media KPIs. Hourly rate depending on experience.

We are a lean team with limited budget at this stage of growth. Ultimately we are looking for someone exceptional and passionate, who wants to join us on our journey, with the potential for a full time role in the future.
